Journal Subscriptions

The The seminary provides students with electronic access to the world's premiere collections of online journals (including book reviews). Click on the icons below access the individual platforms.
N.B. The search tool above will return results from most of these journal databases (not including Ebsco), but you will need to take note of the login credentials in order to access some of them.


EBSCOhost is the premiere platform of academic journals and resources. SATS subscribes to the five theological collections available on ESBSCOhost. 

If prompted, the username is sats and the password seminary.

Upon login, you will need to select the databases you wish to search.  To narrow your results, you would select only those databases that correspond to your field of research.  For example, if you were researching on an Old Testament topic, you would query the Old Testament Abstracts.  If you do not find what you are looking for, you may return to the database selection screen and widen your search.

After your databases are selected, click continue.  You may enter your search term by keyword in the top most search bar.


JSTOR is a project of several leading universities to make full-text journal articles available online. It is the best platform after EBSCOhost. The username is sats and the password LPtyf00t.


The Directory of Open Access Journals is a platform of free journals, covering a range of disciplines, and including a number of theological journals.


Sabinet is the home of SA-ePublications, the premiere platform of South African academic journals. The username is k00212ie, and the password k002.
